Gamut Inks

Package Design

Package design is a very interesting aspect of graphic design, and one of the types of work that I really enjoy. Thinking in three dimensions is a bigger challenge, but one that will make us much better graphic designers having embraced the study.

These images are rendered from Photoshop using their now defunct 3D engine. Honestly, I miss it a little bit. It was a bit clunky but we did not have to leave the Photoshop editing environment to create 3D visualizations, or a digital prototype. Adobe has since developed new programs for 3D. Dimension will render 3d scenes. It is ideal for product simulation shots. I have worked with clients whom were thrilled that they did not have to absorb the expense of creating prototypes in order to see their package before doing any actual printing!
